pacnew

Could someone please tell me what I should do with all those pacnew files that I have in my /etc folder?

As of now, I have 3 files...

group.pacnew
ld.so.conf.pacnew
vimrc.pacnew

I know they are new configuration files.

Should i just delete them? Or should I merge them with the existing files? Or do you think I should manually edit the pacnew files to include lines from the old files that are not present in the pacnew files?
