dualscreen => faster synaptics mouse pointer?

I am experiencing a strange phenomenon: When I plug in a second monitor to my laptop and set it via xrandr to a dual screen setup (one big screen) the following happens:
Using the touchpad with synaptics-x11 drivers, the mouse pointer movement gets considerably faster than without the second monitor.

Is this normal? Shouldn't touchpad mouse movement be relative (like "10 pixels per mm finger move") instead of absolute (like "1% of the screen per mm finger move)?

Do you experience this too?

Cheers

Re: dualscreen => faster synaptics mouse pointer?

It seems to be the case here too.  Though, admittedly I've never noticed it before and it doesn't worry me either way.

Looking at the synaptics manual, setting VertResolution and HorizResolution might resolve this.
