Suspension/Hibernation issues on my ThinkPad R400 [SOLVED]

When I try to suspend/hibernate it doesn't work. When suspending everything seem to work fine until I try to actually wake my machine up; the screen is remains black and no other button seem to work (besides the power button to actually shut down the machine). I couldn't find any information on this problem sad

Any ideas?

Edit: I solved the problem by using s2ram wink

Re: Suspension/Hibernation issues on my ThinkPad R400 [SOLVED]

Hi,
I bought a ThinkPad SL510 recently and it too can not wakeup from suspend. Usually "suspend problem" means that something bad happens on wakeup, but our problem is different, we can't wake them up.

The hibernation (suspend to disk) is different, that does work, but because of a very nasty bug in intel graphics driver it is also unusable as you can read here http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/18334

So far I found no useful information about suspend, except some people suggesting the firware is bad... which I just don't buy unless the same thing happens by suspending in MS Windows. Keep us informed about your research into this problem, and I will do the same. Thank you.

You need to install an RTFM interface.

I am actually using the ATI graphic card (discrete) with the the Intel card (integrated) being disabled.
