Final Fantasy 11 woes

Hello all.  I had final fantasy working on my arch build at least 2 months ago.  I recently did a reinstall of arch(was testing out gentoo their for a minute).  I reinstalled steam inside of wine since i used steam to get ffxi in the first place.  I followed all of the steps in the from the Configuring/Updating/Running section and set my wine to vista mode as specified and when i boot up the pol.exe all i get is a box with nothing but blackness and music.  No idea whats going on since its pretty much the same way i set my computer up last time and configured it.  Sneaking suspicion that it could be a issue with wine-1.1.42 and i have already posted this issue their as well. Thought id asks you fine gents and lass's as well.  Maybe you are experiencing it as well or have already found a fix.  Anyways any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi

the Playonline Viewer is broken with the current wine version, FFXI itself works very perfect with 1.1.42.
you must use virtual desktop with your native screen resolution to get the viewer displaying properly.
