Hi,
i'm experiencing a strange behaviour with X after the big upgrade of today.
X is not really starting and I dont see any clear reason for it:
1) dmesg does not show anything strange for me: http://pastebin.com/re7dBpJ5
2) there are no strange messages in Xorg.log:
Current Operating System: Linux mond 2.6.33-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Mon Apr 5 05:57:38 UTC 2010 i686
(WW) warning, (EE) error, (NI) not implemented, (??) unknown.
(II) Loading extension MIT-SCREEN-SAVER
and
(WW) warning, (EE) error, (NI) not implemented, (??) unknown.
(WW) Falling back to old probe method for vesa
(WW) Falling back to old probe method for fbdev
3) as root I can start X with
startx
I have a ATI Mobility X1200 card.
thx for any hints!

Running KDEmod? That is broken at the moment.

thanks for your answer. I will then wait...

You could user startx + ~./xinitrc + some window manager like openbox in the meantime. I will probably swith away from KDEmod it's simply not worth it.

done!
i removed all kdemod-packages and installed the kde packages from extra.
And it works perfectly.
Thx for your help.

Thanks for the update guys, as I am also running kdemod and experienced this behavior. I'll just wait for their update.

Edit: Decided it would be more productive to post this in a new thread that is not marked "SOLVED"
