I have installed archlinux in vmplayer, with open-vm-tools. I followed the archlinux wiki and almost everything is working as it should.
After removing xorg.conf I could enter unity mode in vmplayer. The only problem is that certain keycombinations dont work.
Alt Gr - Works in many combinations. Just not for \ or @ or ~, which makes it really difficult to do any real work.
These keys work when vmplayer is not in unity mode.
Host: Windows 7 64 - english with danish keymap
Guest: Archlinux i686 - english with danish keymap
I have googled and searched different forums, and I have found posts with similar problems. The always solve it by manually setting keys in /etc/vmware/config. But that is in the case where linux is the host and windows the guest.
I tried this with Ubuntu and Debian also, and with vmware's own VMware Tools. All combinations with the same result.
Any ideas?
EDIT: If I am just missing something in the wiki or something else please let me know
