Update broke mouse. Udev might be the culprit

Earlier today I finally updated my system after a period (I think at least 2 months...) of extended non-upgradedness due a pervious update bringing me a version of udev that didn't work. However, I had forgotten why I hadn't been updating, and went ahead with it. I was able to fix the problem with openssl and opencrypto fairly quickly and easily thanks to the thread on it. Now though, for what seems like it would be the same problem, my mouse is failing to work.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Are there any solutions I could try?

Many thanks,

Re: Update broke mouse. Udev might be the culprit

Update: It seems that Xorg is looking for /dev/input/mice, which I lack, I do have /dev/mice though, and making a symbolic link to it worked (Though only temporarily). I'll try to write a udev rule now. (And of course, help would be appreciated, not to sound whiny or anything tongue)
