Online music streamer

I am hosting a website on Dreamhost, using php, and I wish to allow music downloads (which is already done) and also music streaming, which would play the music on a client media player in flash or java. Googling for one brings a host of choices, all which claim mostly the same attributes and features. Has anyone implemented a music streamer that is light, non-intrusive and not annoying to the user?

For more elaboration, I wish to have a page of entries of music files that each have download and "listen" links. The listen links would open a small window which would be the music streamer. I would prefer not to use flash, but if it is much better than anything else out there, then that's fine. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

In summary, this is a way to use Html5 audio / video and to fall back on flashplayer if your browser don't support it:

Check out jinzora and subsonic (not so light), or Edna (very light -- doesn't have a built in player but serves up a .m3u file to a clients music player).
