Indirect rendering works on KDE, but weird UXA error after soft frz

So I reinstalled KDE and disabled the direct rendering. It worked fine for the first few (two) days, but then it started acting a bit weird...the screen would freeze after some time.
Error from Xorg.0.log.old:

(WW) intel(0): i830_uxa_prepare_access: gtt bo map failed: Input/output error

The screen would not black out, but it would freeze when the error occured. I'm not sure if it had anything to do with me fooling around with the settings (I tried setting fallback + nearest for the OpenGL options, the settings that I had working w/before were the default OpenGL settings minus the direct rendering)...so...anyone encountered any similar problems?
(I still have Compiz and PekWM around just in case KDE decides to crash on me again)

For every problem, there is a solution that is:
Clean
Simple and most of all...wrong!
