best tool to rip streaming media

there is a webinar that i want to rip for later use.  this is basically a streaming video.  what is the best open source tool to do this?

It depends on HOW it is streamed. To rip any kind of stream mplayer can play you could just

mplayer --dumpstream http://linktostream

streamripper works really good. At least for mp3's, I'm unsure about video.

I used streamripper back when I used Windows. If you just need to use something that could easily run in the background, you can rip it with mplayer as zguhijok suggested.
