Hey all!
I recently attempted to make my iPod Touch work with Rhythmbox. I have installed everything the wiki says to install and can mount the iPod, manage applications on it with sbmanager and ideviceinstaller and use it with GTKPod.
I wish to make it work with Rhythmbox because it's what I use to manage my library of music.
Anyone have ideas?
System:
Current Arch (As of 12 April 2010)
Openbox
Packages: libplist libimobiledevice ifuse usbmuxd libgpod-git, gvfs (from abs), sbmanager and ideviceinstaller.
iPod:
iPod Touch 3G
3.1.2 Firmware
Jailbroken
This step also applied if it makes a difference: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/IPo … e_Database

I gave up on trying to get it to sync, and just copied files over SSH and played them with mplayer.

None of those solutions will work for me because I need to be able to use the remote controls on my bluetooth headphones and use the iPod on the bus. Does anyone have any ideas?

Rebuilding libplist libimobiledevice ifuse usbmuxd libgpod-git, gvfs (from abs), fuse (from abs) does the trick for my iphone (not sure if i rebuilt nautilus as well, can't tell anymore). I can see it it nautilus, synchronize in gtkpod and rhythmbox.

Does it matter if I don't have nautilus?

I followed Nepherte's instructions and the iPod still doesn't come up in rhythmbox
It is detected in GTKPod though...

I installed nautlius and when I open it I can mount my iPod and it comes up in Rhythmbox!
I still can't copy to it though...

If you open your ipod in nautilus, do you see multiple directories?
Did you add your user to the usbmux group? You may want to uncomment the option "user_allow_other" in /etc/fuse.conf if it still doesn't work.

I do see multiple directories and can browse and view files on the iPod.
Also, I am part of the usbmux group.
The only problems are the iPod only appearing when nautilus is open and inability to copy files to and from the iPod...

I have no idea how Ubuntu does this... my Nautilus displays the ipod as digital camera, and I can only access the DCIM folder.
ifuse /media/ipod && gtkpod
works though... Anyone got a complete list of things to rebuild / Configure (maybe rhythmbox --with_ipod or something?)
