mistaken upgrade to kde 3.4 / downgrading

I just did a "pacman -Syu" and saw kde 3.4...
I downloaded the updates and rebooted cause of updated kernel.
I logged into kde and just hate it, the icons are messed up, my kmenu
and kcontrol panel doesn't work (no options on left). I would rather
downgrade to what I had before for now!
this may be a stupid newbie question but are there repositories I can
downgrade the package???

I'd appreciate your help and sorry if this is a very stupid question
Geoff

Downgrading is not necessary. Please read this thread, you are not the only one big_smile

Re: mistaken upgrade to kde 3.4 / downgrading

sounds like the pacman bug....
try this:
go into vc/1 (ctr + alt + F1) login as root

#/etc/rc.d/kdm stop
#pacman -Rd kde
#pacman -S kde

you may see an error about a file already existing somewhere...I just moved it to my desktop and it installed afterwards.
you will need to remove your /home/user_name/.kde/share/apps/konqsidebartng/
folder for the new konqueror sidebar.

rm -r /home/user_name/.kde/share/apps/konqsidebartng

reboot.
