Re: "events/1" cpu usage.... any info would be cool.[SOLVED]

I understand this is an older thread, but it's worth adding that I, too, am having the same issues as the previous poster. "events/1" stays in the top 5 active list no matter what I'm doing, and even on a dual core Intel I can tell there are some significant drawbacks since it's unwanted appearance.

"events/1" started a small number (1, maybe 2 in the few weeks~) of kernel upgrades ago directly from the Arch repos (pacman -Syu, no patches on my part). If there's any way to remove the process or trim said process down to size safely, I'd love to see that information. Unfortunately, for now, I'm clueless as to what the "event" is due to the lack of said info.

Re: "events/1" cpu usage.... any info would be cool.[SOLVED]

I'm having this problem as well, with 2.6.27 / x86_64.  Everything was fine until today.  Suddenly, events/1 started using 100% of one of my cores whenever I run VirtualBox.

I think 2.6.27-8 could be the culprit.  Below is my pacman log since yesterday:

Re: "events/1" cpu usage.... any info would be cool.[SOLVED]

I can help by suggesting that posting in a thread that is 18 months old and where the OP has deleted their original post is a) unlikely to get you any real help and b) probably have this thread closed forthwith.

You should read the forum rule on necro bumping and start a new thread with detailed info about your issue...
