low volume problem with Realtek ALC888
On one of my computers the audio is very faint, even with pcm, master, front, surround and the speakers volume knob all at max.
driver is snd-hda-intel, chip is Realtek ALC888, motherboard is a Gigabyte P31-ES3G
What to do?

Hmm, according to my brother, sometimes it does switch to normal volume, albeit only for a couple of seconds max.
Oh well. I've given up on this and put an Audigy SE in, and it seems to be working fine.
