It'd had been a few weeks since I last updated my Arch netbook (EEE PC 1000H) and decided I would do so last night. Had roughly 400MB work of updates to download.
First problem was, I lost wifi. Had to download the firmware for my card (seems odd this was removed
) and then blacklist several modules that were getting loaded which, I assume, was causing conflicts.
Now, I have a rather annoying bug that changes my keyboard layout to Sweden at every boot (from US). If I change it back to US, from the now appearing panel icon, and open and close the terminal it reverts back to the Swedish layout.
I'm also getting the following from /var/log/message:
Apr 16 22:33:41 kane-arch kernel: composite sync not supported
[kane@kane-arch ~]$
I tried generating a Xorg.conf file after editing /etc/hal/fdi/policy/10-keymap.fdi did nothing... Still getting problems.
What the hellz happened? Why am I getting errors now? Why is my keyboard layout constantly changing? Why did I have to reinstall my wifi? o.O
This is the first annoying problem I've had with Arch and I really hope it's the last >.<
EDIT: It seems I can fix the keyboard issue by selecting 'USA' at login (GDM). However, I've noticed some more errors in /var/log/messages
Apr 16 22:33:50 kane-arch gnome-session[8367]: WARNING: Could not launch application 'polkit-gnome-authentication-agent-1.desktop': Unable to start application: Failed to execute child process "/usr/lib/gdm/polkit-gnome-authentication-agent-1" (No such file or directory)

Apr 16 22:33:52 kane-arch gdm-simple-greeter[8377]: WARNING: Unable to read from /etc/arch-release
Ideas?
