Arbitrarily changing mousespeed [solved]

Hey everyone,

I'm dealing with a pretty annoying problem right now that already made me stop using Arch a couple of months ago. However, since I do want to use it I figured I'd post here to see if you guys might have a solution.

The problem is simple. My mousespeed keeps changing randomly after a certain amount of time. It feels like it doubles the mousespeed and it only happens once, meaning if the speed increased it won't change back or get even faster after some more time.

Here's the mouse section from xorg.conf

Section "InputDevice"
    Identifier "Mouse0"
    Driver "mouse"
    Option "Protocol" "auto"
    Option "Device" "/dev/input/mice"
    Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5 6 7"
EndSection

I also adjust the speed manually via xset m 3/2 2 which is called when my window manager (pekwm) starts.

Any ideas?

Anything in the system log, at the same time as the mouse speed change?

Re: Arbitrarily changing mousespeed [solved]

I've decided to downgrade my kernel to 2.6.31-ARCH cause I remembered I didn't have the problem with this version. So far it seems like it worked. But while we're at it. Are there any other options for the mouse than xset m acc thr? I'm not really getting comfortable settings with it.

Edit: Guess the kernel downgrade really did the track (although it was a pain).
