ACE won't compile for some reason

Sorry for using the Newbie corner but I guess the degree of the problem is 100% newbie.

So. I want to use BFilter with Chrome (only usable filtering proxy with the only usable browser).

BFilter depends on ACE. Tried installing Ace 5.7.7 right from AUR and then the 5.7.8 version by hand but no use at all.

Try adding this to the PKGBUILD for ACE:

export LDFLAGS="${LDFLAGS//-Wl,--as-needed}"

Failed. Any other idea?

(Trying the other commented out ./configure in the PKGBUILD. Sad thing it takes a while to compile.)

Update: No use.
