[Solved] mpd/ario/sonata can't play live radio streams?

Moin.

I recently installed mpd, version 0.15.9-1 and i try ario and Sonata as clients. It seems to work fine, except that both clients can't play radio streams like FM4. Other audio players like Rhythmbox can play them without complaining. Therefore I think that the malfunction is caused by mpd.

I don't know where to look for the info needed to resolve the problem. I appreciate any helpful answer.

Kind regards,
hauntergeist

Plays perfectly fine here. Add the url in Sonatas "stream" tab.

Yeah FM4! always loved it when I was in Austria. Good radio stations are very, very rare in germany.
Gilles Peterson's show on air/line atm...

Re: [Solved] mpd/ario/sonata can't play live radio streams?

@hokasch:
Thanks! Normally I tried to play the streams in ario first and then I tried to play them in Sonata. Because of mpd's server-client-structure the playlist already contained the streams. I didn't think that adding the streams to the "stream tab" makes such a difference. I am still wondering why Sonata plays the streams now, but it does and that's the key point. ario still can't play the streams. I think that's the winning point for sonata.

Btw, i don't know if you like the genre, but i can recommend radio Dunkle Welle too.
