I have just installed arch on my Acer Aspire 5720ZG laptop and I've struck a problem with xdm/xfce when in runlevel 5 and try to login as a regular user, I get as far as X showing the mouse cursor then falling back to the login screen. logging in as root works as expected. search of the logs showed a segfault in xdm on one attempt of dozens.
if I switch to runlevel 3 I can login as user and startxfce successfully.
