I'm running kdemod core on arch-64. Since i updated 12-17  my plasma interface crashes on startup, an also when i load it manually.  the kde errorlog writes this:

Re: Kdemod plasma crash with segfault on logon

Hmm, could be the plasma configurations have gone corrupt.  This be the first thing that I'd try.  For future reference I've built a plasma backup/restore script because this can happen from time to time:

Re: Kdemod plasma crash with segfault on logon

Sorry for bumping an old threat, but thought this might be useful.

Got pretty much same errors after doing a fresh install. Plasma was crashing right after logging to KDE. Turned out it was the networkmanager plasmoid that was causing all this. Removing it solved the problem.

Signaled to kde, they think this currently buggy plasmoid should not be activated by default in arch/kdemod in my case... https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=232173

Re: Kdemod plasma crash with segfault on logon

I believe the bug is networkmanager not being installed with the plasmoid. Don't forget to make sure networkmanager is installed and add it to your rc.conf - This fixed the issue for me.
