E17 question...

Why does E17 require GTK1? I haven't seen it used for anything...

Re: E17 question...

Have you also installed GEVAS?

Re: E17 question...

I'm not using E17 right now. I'm just wondering why, last time I installed it, it needed GTK1.

BTW, I don't think GEVAS is in Rensel's repo.

Re: E17 question...

Well there you go.  That's the only connection I can make out, as far as GTK support requirements.

Re: E17 question...

Package edb-cvs depends on gtk because of app: edb_gtk_ed
There might be other dependencies.

Re: E17 question...

Yes, Snowman is right. Fortunately when all the apps are ported to EET config files edb will be dismissed, one dependency less to update  big_smile

If some of you are waiting for another E17 update: I'll do it as soon as the new gfx pager is completed. Among the important changes, there is the "fix" for Java's strange behavior. In fact, it's a Java problem: the E developers discovered that, as it doesn't respect the standards, Java tries to detect what WM are you running and behaves differently under each of them. As they don't have E17 in their "databases" yet, to make Java apps work at the moment E has to pretend to be KWin!
