USB won't mount!

any usb i have tried wont mount, it says dbus error org.freedesktop.dbus.error.noreply.......access denied
i can access them in gnome, and as root, but even as root i cant change permissions. this happens in thunar dolphin pcmanfm, but not nautilus.
