He wants packages like this one: http://www.archlinux.org/packages/commu … ib32-mesa/ , but the git versions.
Should be easy if we have a 32bit repository.

No, extra lib32.
You mean something like this? http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=32970
So this should take 32bit packages. Omg, I still havent configured the 32bit chroot.

We need lib32 versions of these on radeon 64 repo:
mesa-full
libtxc_dxtn
libdrm-git
Also irrelevant to radeon, for adslgr 64 repo, lib32 versions of cairo-cleartype,freetype2-cleartype and libxft-cleartype would be welcome.

Yup, that is exactly what i meant. I am actually surprised no one bothered asking for it sooner. In order for example to play(or test) any games on bin32-wine, you need lib32-mesa, and the one available at community is older and much less advanced. So if you are planning a 686 version of radeon repo, it shouldn't be so difficult to provide lib32 versions in order to use the latest mesa with 32 bit programs as well.

If you want to build this lib32 packages you should take a look at the PKGBUILDs I proposed to the nightly people to build the lib32 packages:

I asked the question back in post_1037:
Out of interest, does anyone know what the problem is between Wine & the OS drivers that causes games to not run or run very poorly?
No one apparently new?
Thanks for clarifying.
I used to be surprised that I was still surprised by my own stupidity, finding it strangely refreshing.
Well, now I don't find it refreshing.

I'd like to check out the pm2 patcheset avaialble afaik in kernel26-pm.
Has anyone had any experiences with it and Radeon 3450? Does it work well (i.e. no hangs?)
Does it work with vga_switcheroo?
Where can I find the PKGBUILD (I'd like to build it myself to include my own patches)?

@Neuro: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4832298/sources.tar.bz2
The kernel26-pm is simple: I used kernel26-git and changed the git root/branch.

What happened to the repo? I'm getting a 404 error.

I am getting a 404 not found with this link

Server = http://tiven.org/gtklocker/radeon-repo/x86_64/
Can someone update the first posting with the right repo?

@perry3d
@Pik, you're right. We are transferring files to a new ssh (root) controlled server, so please stand and wait to tar/untar.
and dont forget to read your mails.

Meh, tried Radeon 9800 pro and got http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=94587
Then I tried -git versions of the driver and mesa and got the same.
Then I tried the -git version of the kernel from the nightly repo and got ... NULL pointer derefernce in the kernel WTF.http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/16674?getfile=4195 (not from me)
Then I put a Geforce 5200 in the PC, because I really didn't want to compile a kernel myself.
Please, we need a repo with the kernel for i686!

You're gonna be alright now. Changed host.

Thanks gtklocker it is working sweetly now.
[Edit:] I just upgraded & tested kernel26-pm, kernel26-git & kernel26-drm-radeon-testing & the other associated packages from [radeon] repo; all of them give the same result;- lower screen res' & glxgears fractionally faster than half the speed I was getting before, PM is unchanged.
I'm not sure which package(s) I need to downgrade at this point. I start with a kernel & see what happens.
[Edit2:] It is the xf86-video-ati-git that is causing problems for me, leaving all other packages at the current version & downgrading it solved the res' & GL speed problems.

Try the [xorg18] repo, with this xorg.conf:
# Minimal xorg.conf for the radeon driver
Section "ServerFlags"
Option "IgnoreABI" "True"
EndSection
Section "Device"
Identifier "My Graphics Card"
Driver "radeon"
EndSection
And see if it works. The radeon repo should be first, and the xorg18 second in your pacman.conf.
I'm so sorry, because I use it, and the packages are built with it, so give it a try and tell me.
(Xorg 1.8 is better than the old for that, try it.)

Thanks gtklocker, but I'll just sit tight until the next xf86-video-ati-git upgrade which will probably fix the problem for me.

Ups, i also did an upgrade one minute ago. I think i will downgrade to the last version.
Does somebody has some informations when xorg 1.8 will be in extra?

Well, the packages are re-upgraded, retry please!
(It's worth to try Xorg 1.8)

Yes, KDE can be ran upon Xorg-server 1.8 without any problem.

I did another upgrade & installed Xorg 1.8 & everything is going fine now. No noticeable changes in 3D speed or PM though.
