So I have apache and ssl set up as https://site1.site.com and http://site.com. My prob is that everything that is https is directed to "/home/http/html/site1" and everything that is http is directed to "/home/http/html/site", but the address remains whatever the user types in. so http://site1.site.com shows "/home/http/html/site". Can i set up a redirect so apache redirects based on https so the address will change?

yes.
try putting this in your http.conf file...see if it works.
If it doesn't, it shouldn't be too far from what you need..
RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^site1.site.com [NC]
RewriteCond %{SERVER_PORT} ^80$
RewriteRule ^/.*$ https://site1.site.com/$1 [L,R]

I put it in httpd.conf, but i noticed that htaccess has:
RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^$
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://(www.)?site.com/.*$ [NC]
Would i need to rewite this as well? Thanks in advance
