xfree 4.5 was released and i was just wondering if arch will continue to have packages for xfree or if support will end with the 4.4 package.

Yeah, I heard that same 'sucking' sound a while back too when xfree86 changed their license. Last thing you wanna do is piss of an OSS'er. You have a better chance of 'reconciliation' with your wife when you leave the toilet seat up...

I think I'll drop xfree86, since the only reason for having it was the problems with Xorg 6.8 and ATi drivers. Since ATi works fine now, there's no need for xfree86 anymore.
I'm not the only one with plans to drop xfree86 soon, so be prepared for a nice xfree86 -> xorg upgrade if you didn't do so yet
