[SOLVED] gdm 2.30.2 can not load themes & background

After today's update gdm only displays its window in default grey and with a black background, even though its settings according to "sudo -u gdm dbus-launch gnome-appearance-properties" are still correct.

pacman.log lists:

[2010-04-29 20:00] warning: directory permissions differ on var/log/gdm/
filesystem: 1770  package: 755

And gdm's :0-greeter.log is currently:

Worst than a graphical problem, i can't log in at all! The stuff display the connect button (in an ugly style like said by topic author)n but whatever i do, (enter or left clic),the stuff do black screen 2seconds and came back to the connect button.

Style is now back (with update 2.30-2.2), but still no login possible. I noticed that at every new try, a new gdm instance appaears under ps aux.

Two computers involved, both nvidia gpu.

No, I did not. All I did was reset gnome-appearance-properties for gdm, as I initially thought it may have somehow messed up the settings.

Downgraded to 2.30.0-1 (found in pacman's cache of my main computer). But i'm ok to try the upcoming version...
