Package curruption -fixed

Hya M8s!

im a new arch user (well trying to be) and im having a biit of a problem.

it took me many trys to install arch and have everything work.  I did a FTP install of the base system.  i have succesfully installed xorg but now i cannot seem to install any other packages!  Every single time i try any package using pacman i get file currupt after its downloaded.  i m trying to get gnome 2.10 here is what i used:

pacman -S gnome-extra

i also tried just plain gnome and many other programs but like i said it keeps on saying that the packages are currupt.

i dont know whats wrong but like i said every single package is currupt now and wont install. so any help would be good. however, dont expect me too know too much about linux i have been an Ubuntu and SuSE user for awhile...so i dont really know linux! :-)

Re: Package curruption -fixed

figured it out. it was pretty simple!

for somereason when i read throught the pacman man pages i thought

pacman -c

cleaned the cache but then i realized the only capitals are commands.  so then i did a help on the -S command and found out that to clean all cache its -Scc

once i executed this i was quickly able to install gnome with out a problem.

cheers,
