Slow internet.

Hi everyone.
I can say that, I'm new Linux user and I have problem with my Ethernet. Maybe probem is easy to solve bu I can't do it sad. I don' know what I should do.
I don't know why, but internet on Arch as slow as on Windows. I check pings and pings form Linux is like from Windows. I check two cars: DFE-528TX and Pentagram Hornet but i don'y see difference. This cards are using chip RTL-8139c, but with Linux start is load 8139too. I think that, it's bad module, but i cna't find good version of 8139c. I find only 8139c for kernel 2.4 no fo 2.6 hmm.

Please help.

PS: Sory for my bad english. I hope so you understand this text smile

Re: Slow internet.

Hi,
I had a similar problem,
perhaps you can try adding these line in /etc/modprobe.conf and reboot

alias net-pf-10 off
alias 8139cp    off

first line destactivate ipv6
second line desactivate 8139cp module

Re: Slow internet.

I did it and it's work a bit better now, but it isn't as fast as on Windows. Maybe it isn't internet fault. I think that i have too slow PC for Linux or i have bad/ too much modules in system.

Re: Slow internet.

See the forum rules, please. Disabling ipv6 is in the wiki, btw.
