Re: no more GRUB after change of /etc/rc.sysinit

Grub only disappears if you overwrite the first 446 bytes of your drive or delete the grub files in /boot.

So.. what do you mean by "grub disappeared"?

If you deleted grub in some way, you have to reinstall it with grub-install. You can do this by starting from live cd, mounting your /root and /boot to /mnt (and /mnt/boot) and running grub-install --root-directory=/mnt /dev/sdx (replace sdx with your drive).

If you can't boot into arch because of changes in rc.sysinit you have to reinstall initscripts as i don't suppose you created a backup.

You also might have to reinstall mkinitcpio and create a kernelimage with mkinitcpio -p kernel26.
