You really are undecided, aren't you? Looks like you are in the process of KDE'ifying your Gnome. I give you one more month until you go back to KDE. :-p

Lol nah, i've been back to gnome for about a month now and loving it. It keeps me more productive, since it's not as 'in my face' as KDE was...Even though it's higher mem usage than kde, i'm sticking with it big_smile

Well, wallpaper says it all, there's nothing to add big_smile I'd like to ask about this round monitor in the middle - what's that?

Just finished this today.

Clean:
screenshot2010050921505.th.png

Dirty:
screenshot2010050921505.th.png

Using: xmonad, dzen2, conky. I use 3 conky scripts to render the "HUD," top right, bottom left, bottom right. This is my config for my desktop only. I soon plan to use this config on my studio 15 laptop, which will problably require some tweaking.

For configs, go to my github below.

My conky config folder is here http://github.com/bobwallis/dotfiles/tr … er/.conky/.

The calendar and clock widgets use standard Conky stuff and conkyForecast.
The Facebook one uses FBCMD and some probably awful sed usage to grab the info and download my profile picture.
The BBC News and lastFm scripts both run a PHP script to download data from feeds and assemble it into png background images and text files.

They're all done pretty hackily, but work for me with occasional tweaking (the right alignment of the lower right clock seems particularly temperamental).
Eventually I'll get around to finishing them off and adding my Google Calendar appointments to the calendar widget.

tint2 instead of xfce4-panel.

I just got it configured and will probably mess with tint2 a lot more.

I have a full gnome install on my arch install and I havent seen it go above 600 yet, usually stays around 300-400 for web browsing and such, and its ~280 on cold boot.

Still running XMonad. Configs in my signature.

Only thing new is the reminder in the bottom status bar of the first screen that reminds me to reboot when a new kernel has been installed. It compares the current uptime with the last kernel update from pacman.log
