Booting to TTY1 after a few seconds?

There is a weird behavior whenever I login or startup my computer.

Cause everytime after a few seconds after the GDM show up it suddenly went to tty1 even though the GDM or GNOME is at TTY7
Anyone have any idea how to fix this?

my /etc/inittab

#
# /etc/inittab
#

#  Runlevels:
#    0    Halt
#    1(S)    Single-user
#    2    Not used
#    3    Multi-user
#    4    Not used
#    5    X11
#    6    Reboot

# Boot to X11

x:5:respawn:/usr/sbin/gdm -nodaemon
#x:5:respawn:/usr/bin/kdm -nodaemon
#x:5:respawn:/usr/bin/slim >& /dev/null

# End of file

this is my splash.conf I'm using fbsplash and I suspect the problem is here.

DEFAULT_TTY=8
SWITCH_TTY=1
CONSOLE_PRINT=true
SPLASH_DEBUG=false

but I'm afraid if I change it I couldn't boot at all so, any suggestion?

Re: Booting to TTY1 after a few seconds?

Even though I change that to 7 it is still switching to tty1.

So is there any other factor that could cause that?

Re: Booting to TTY1 after a few seconds?

Silly me it was actually fbsplash acting up because the network daemon failed to connect so it automatically change to tty1.

I change from this

DAEMONS=(syslog-ng @network netfs acpid crond alsa laptop-mode dbus hal powernowd bluetooth networkmanager ntpd)

to this

DAEMONS=(syslog-ng !network netfs acpid crond alsa laptop-mode dbus hal powernowd bluetooth networkmanager ntpd)

Sorry for all the trouble.
