MPD Setup Help [SOLVED]

I am trying to get MPD setup and running on my arch box.  But for the life of me, it is not working at all.  I have followed the MPD Wiki for the arch setup, but nothing is working.  I have tried installing Sonata for the player, but it keeps telling me that it is disconnected.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well an error of 'disconnected' says to me that MPD isnt running. Not sure if you are taking the 'run as root/mpd user' or 'run as user' approach, but try starting mpd in a terminal, either `/etc/rc.d/mpd start` or just `mpd`. That should give you some errors or information to work from at least.

dont use the init script for debugging

run as root with "mpd --verbose --stdout --no-daemon"

Got it working.  What I did was used the alternative setup from the MPD wiki, by using the user way (files in home directory and using .xinitrc to launch mpd).
