Re: Free Arch Linux Shell Account

I would love a shell account if you are still offering them. I am working on my python programming, so whatever size account you have available would be great!

Re: Free Arch Linux Shell Account

Hi everybody!

I'd be happy to have an account at Archlinux for development and programs testing purposes on sbcl, which is installed here.

96Mb will be very ok.

Thanks for the account kaitocrazy.

I have a question, is it permitted to run irc bouncers on the shell like ZNC or psyBNC?

Hey, run whatever you like. Let me know if you need me to open some ports for you.

If you're still offering accounts I'd like a 24mb one.

Re: Free Arch Linux Shell Account

Thanks a lot for my account!

Edit: as I'd like to use the account for developing my calculator, would it be possible to install mapm and plplot (or plplot-svn, since plplot compilation is kind of broken) from AUR? Thanks again!

I will look into it. In the meantime feel free to install in your home directory. Please do all compilation in /tmp.

Re: Free Arch Linux Shell Account

Thank you very much for your initiative mate. I would like a 24mb shell if still possible, mainly for testing php pages, ssh tunnel, and maybe a psybnc.

Re: Free Arch Linux Shell Account

Hi kaitocracy!

If you are still offering I would like a 24mb shell. I would use it primary to relay+encode a 128kbit mp3 radio stream to a 64kbit(or lower) ogg stream from time to time when I'm on my slow wireless internet. So if you have mplayer and vorbis-tools installed I would be very happy. Otherwise I settle with irssi running in a screen session to keep me from being disconnected.

Thank you!

Would you mind installing vi? I've tried to get vim to behave more like vi but after 30 minutes with little success it doesn't seem worth it.

Re: Free Arch Linux Shell Account

Hello!
First of all, thank you for your offer smile

But I am not able to connect to the server. Maybe I am just too stupid (don't have much experience)
Could anyone help me?
when I use

ssh ************.tld

to connect to the server it directly asks me for the password.
So I tried

ssh *************.tld -l username

and entered my password, but doesn't get accepted. What's wrong?
Do I have to specify the port (default 22)?

Edit: Oh, my username is tommy.hardwood btw

Let me know if this is continuing to happen. The LDAP service went down for a while yesterday which would cause you to be unable to log in. Please try again and let me know if you have any success.
