Merging channels?

I have two mono channels - DAC, which is left, and DAC 2, which is right- that I want to merge into one stereo channel. Is this possible? I would only use the new stereo channel in KMix (for convenience sake). I'm using KDE 4.4.3 + ALSA.

Cheers. Sorry if this is a bad question, I'm really new to linux and all (although even though it took forever to set up I'm really loving Arch so far).

ALSA can do remapping through the asound.conf or .asoundrc, AFAIK. Not that I've every bothered to mess around with that.... You could search for documentation for .asoundrc configuration.
