I found a nice?? little gui for setting wallpaper with a variety of root wallpaper changers
I uploaded it to AUR today.
http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=22997
It is very usefull for anyone wishing to graphically change their desktop wallpaper when using only a WM.

This is pretty cool! I like it a lot.
One thing: the post-install message tells you to copy the example config, but it doesn't tell you where or what to name it. I had to go to the cwallpaper website to find out that it needed to go to ~/.config/cwallpaper/config.
Also, I'm guessing you have to run makeList.sh every time you add a wallpaper to your wp directory?

OK, I updated the .install file to provide better info.

that would be correct, although it wouldn't be hard automate it. Maybe add it to your login script or a cron job.
I am going to email the dev about that, and suggest adding a path option in the config, and have the WP list updated when the program runs.

Email has been sent to the Dev.

Nitrogen does the same thing, might want to check it out. However with nitrogen you don't have to generate a wallpaper listing.
cool, thanks, I'll check it out... sounds like it might be better right now. I'll keep this package up to date in AUR though, and we'll see where it goes.

The one thing nitrogen lacks is the wallpaper preview... nice find! (I'm sticking with nitrogen for the moment, i don't need the preview )

My nitrogen has a preview...

But if they tell you that I've lost my mind, maybe it's not gone just a little hard to find...

I heard back from the Dev today, and it looks like auto generation will be in the next release.
Hello Stephen,
Thank you! I'm glad you like it!
I've been developing the FLTK version more than the GTK version, since FLTK uses less than half the memory that GTK does. But if people prefer GTK to FLTK, I'll make sure the GTK version has the same features as the FLTK one (I personally use the FLTK one)The current unreleased version of the FLTK branch has automatic list generation (You give it a list of folders and it generates wallpaper lists from that), but it's still got a couple of bugs before it's released. If you'd like I could email you once that's done. By the way, the screenshot on your forum post (http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=62681) is actually the FLTK version.
Thank you,
Colin
BTW, I will upload the FLTK package to AUR in a little while.

This requires normal [old] GTK or GTK2+?

GTK 2
or
FLTK 1.1

Then why is GTK [old] a dependency?
