SOUND Mixing

is it possible to allow two apps to use the soundcard? i want to do this under GNOME and KDE.

for example:

1) i want to use skype and play call of duty at the same time to talk to my friend.

Is it possible to use the /dev/dsp with two apps?

does esd or aRTS have something to do with it?

Re: SOUND Mixing

Where do i get the noregparm package? i dont understand.

you also have to download the noregparm package if you are using standard kernel from arch rep. (you may check if your current kernel uses it by scouring the .config in /usr/src/linux)

i have the arch kernel, and i see that the optionfor regparm is off.
