Hello,
I am using Arch on my desktop box, and want to put it on my Aspire One D250 (currently running Debian). I followed instructions on the wiki <http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Acer_aspire_one>, and installed from the "core" image, then installed the latest kernel packages, but still no joy. The command
dhclient eth0
complains that eth0 does not exist. I get a similar error while booting. Inserting the module r8169 with
modprobe r8169
does not seem to help.
At the time of writing, the latest kernel version in the (stable) Arch repository is 2.6.33.
Thanks,
Aidan

aidalgol,
there are many reports on the net concerning the Aspire One D250 Ethernet.
Google for "Linux Aspire One D250 atheros" or "Aspire One D250 atheros arch".
Anyhow do a lspci to see if the hardware shows the Ethernet adapter. If it does, execute "ifconfig -a" to see
if the software sees it.
