A question about locales and a problem

Hi,
In /etc/rc.conf I have set the default locale to sv_SE for Swedish and the language is working and I have also uncommented that in /etc/locales.gen
But in the text console some of the Swedish letters aren't shown proprely like å ä and ö. Any suggestions? They are shown as ?. Any tips?
Many thanks!

Re: A question about locales and a problem

Some terminals do not support UTF-8 encoding.

it might be worth your while to look into a different terminal,

But shouldn't the console support that?
If not, how to change terminal?
Many thanks!

Re: A question about locales and a problem

I misread your previous post, I thought you meant terminal emulator (xterm, rxvt, etc.) when it seems you meant the tty.

Try putting

export LC_ALL=sv_SE.utf8

in your bashrc, If I'm not mistaken this should take care of the problem.
