I've been playing around with an old laptop and learning the ropes with ssh and x11 forwarding. I tried playing a mp4 on my laptop today and was getting some playback issues with mplayer, that I had not had issues with the day before. I eventually solved the issue by installing the mplayer-svn on my laptop. What I am curious about is whether or not I need to report this issue to those who handle packaging for extra.
I'm not exactly sure when the issue cropped up, but obviously something changed, and I recall some error messages saying the Xv support was not available with the version of X11 I was using. I would assume this was related to an xorg update.
Anybody know whether I should follow this up or not?

Scrap that solution..mplayer-svn actually just delayed the issue. I think the problem is really a slow cpu playing a large avi, a hardware issue.
