Hi, I'm currently trying to install Arch Linux 2010.05 on my Notebook (PII 266Mhz 128mb RAM). I boot from CD and select "Boot Arch Linux". Now The system is loading and displaying messages, then it stops. Output:
...
INIT: Entering runlevel: 3
:: Starting Syslog-NG [DONE]
:: Starting Network [DONE]
:: Generating locales... [BUSY] (here it pauses for about 10 minutes)
/usr/sbin/locale-gen: line 41: 1235 Killed localdef -i $input
-c -f $charset -A /usr/share/locale/locale.alias $locale
[DONE]
:: Making the default user arch [DONE]
:: Fixing file permissions... [DONE]
_ (blinking underscore)
Here the process stops and doesn't continue even after multiple hours. Is 2010.05 bugged or did i do something wrong?
Thanks,
aXyde

Testing in a virtual machine, the live system boots fine on 128MB. I get similar error messages on 64MB, but none of the long delays - the system boots, although locale generation fails.

I'm using the "core"-image but there shouldn't be any differences to 'netinst' right? Is there anything on client side that I can try to fix this?
I'm going to try 2009.08 now.

I am not sure ... I think you run out of memory, but you shouldn't. The delays puzzle me even more, I have no idea what causes them.
