Cannot switch between consoles when using Xfce

Hi,

When I am using Xfce, I can't switch between the different consoles (ctlr+alt+F1 to F6). Well, I can but I do not have the console, just a blinking underscore.

Same problem when trying to logout from xfce. It does logout, but I do not see my console back again, just a blank screen.

Ctrl+z or Ctrl+c won't help either.

Installed xorg, xfce but no session manager. I just issue a startxfce4 to launch xfce.

Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Cannot switch between consoles when using Xfce

Are you using KMS?
I'm not sure but you could try launching your WM from .xinitrc:
'exec ck-launch-session WM'
Instead of WM you can try 'startxfce4' 'xfce' or wait for somebody smarter than me :-)
