Hi,
I need to replace my pci tvcard so I can finally ditch my old soundblaster card, too
Both cards are very old, but I need the soundcard to convert the analog sound from the Bt878 chip as
this does not work with the onboard HDA chip. However I hope an uptodate USB Stick will work fine
with onboard HDA chips.
So, I'm looking for a product that has all of the following features, sadly unsuccessfull so far :
- External USB TV stick( so I can put in laptop for the go, too )
- DVB-C ( cable ) + DVB-T (terrestrial , antenna ) + analog ( for backward compatibility )
- HDTV ( no matter what standard )
- I guess USB 2 would / must be a must with this data load, surprise me
- be available in Europe, let's see ...
- LINUX support and this was the killer so far as those chips are just very unsupported to say the least ( vendors refuse to cooperate )
I tried to search for a product but when ever i found one , those specs above are not super ridiculous as combo sticks are very common even with HDTV, it was flagged unsupported via
http://www.linuxtv.org.
As an example , this was my "want-2-have" which is said to not run under linux:
http://www.terratec.net/en/products/tec … 57350.html
since my old card was TerraTec too and it really was worth the money.
Help on getting that stick to run is also welcome !
Any other recommendations ?

I found the shop of the former developer of some kernel drivers for some tv chips. He is now selling his own hardware + drivers :

Exactly what I wanted ...

Seems pricey. How about http://shop.ebay.de/?_from=R40&_trksid= … Categories or http://desc.shop.ebay.de/i.html?_nkw=No … 313&_rdc=1

Looks good and indead cheap, although not yet finished auction. Full price seems to be about 50 €.
But biggest problem is missing DVB-C in all those devices. I'd use DVB-T only on the road. My provider
has full DVB-C programm without the need for Si modules so this is priority. I don't need analog at all i realized,
so 95 € is okay I guess.
