t400s microphone

I always had problems in having my microphone working.

I have a thinkpad t400s, which has two microphones (I think they are suppose to work togeter to get a directional microphone or something like that).

Anyway, they worked for some time when I installed arch in november, then they stopped working, than I think I blacklisted the oss modules and they worked again, now they don't work.

This is the output of amixer:

I tried with Mic and Mic 1, I tried maxing every volume, but nothing.

It doesn't work with skype and audacity.

I am at loss of ideas, any suggestions?

I think he isn't interested in the virtues of his thinkpad, rather than run your microphone.

First before all, read http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/For … te#Bumping and all the wiki entry, two or three times. Next read http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html two or three times again.

Now, if you expect any help follow what you read. First thing is, we need some info, my crystal ball dont do international calls, so I cant magically discovery what type of audio card you have. Second 'dont work' is something windows/ubuntu user says, define what is 'dont work', you select the mic device and nothing come out, or a error pop up in terminal, or anything else?

Posting the output of 'arecord -l' can help too.

Really, only come back after reading and searching.
