So I installed the latest kernel26-ck (2.6.34) and the accompanying nvidia-ck package, but now X11 will not start - the nvidia module is supposedly missing.
However, 2.6.33 (which I kept as a backup kernel) with the "nvidia" package works flawlessly and I am using it at the moment.
Any tips?

look the nvidia build from testing. it has a config in /etc/modprobe.d to blacklist nouveau
Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

Running kernel26-ck with nvidia-ck here, blacklisted nouveau in rc.conf and it works fine.
P.S.: I picked this up from the aur comments when installing nvidia-ck. Always worth reading them.

Many thanks for your replies.
I actually did blacklist nouveau in rc.conf (I read the AUR comments) and it still didn't work. I'll try again though.

Oh, just realized I still have a rudimentary xorg.conf because of some EDID problems some time ago. It would make sense that it is working for me because nvdida driver is explicitly loaded throuh xorg.conf.
