Second monitor blank - ATI KMS

I'm unable to get my second monitor to show any output. It is not going into low powered mode and is receiving some kind of signal, but it is simply blank from the moment KMS is enabled at boot.

I don't know about kms and my external monitor does go to sleep, so it may not apply, but have you tried something like "xrandr --output VGA-0 --auto"?

(Replace "VGA-0" by whatever "xrandr -q" tells you your external monitor is.)
