Microphone set up for Skype

Hi there!

I have a problem with my microphone settings. I can't use it with Skype, it only records noise. I read the wiki about Skype and search the problem in Google and I found a solution, I installed Skype as in the Wiki here: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Sky … stallation, had to set up alsamixer's capture levels: Front Mic to 0 or 50 or 100, Mic Boost to 100, Capture isn't matter, Capture 1 to 100, Digital to 100 and Input Source to Front Mic. After that Skype worked fine. In Skype everything was in auto settings.
This morning I tried again, but Skype won't start, it needed two packages to install: lib32-dbus-core and lib32-pcre. Now the microphone with the same settings isn't working at all, only records noise.
I've got one problem with my audio settings, too, its changing back to default at system start, I need to manually set up them.
Whit these settings the audio recording is working fine, except with Skype.

What should I do?

If settings get erased put them into your rc.local - that should work.

i Had a problem like that once you should reduce your mic boost and bring the front mic higher.
the capture should have a impact tough.
Did you try other apps with your microphone?

Well, it's very odd. It is working at the moment. Nothing changed, it's just working. Why? Is this a bug or something like that?

It isn't working again, but I have nothing updated, my Arch is the same as when I opened this topic. Nobody knows any solution or just a reason?

In the alsamixer's capture list there isn't any Digital until I open Skype and make a call. Why? And at the moment, no audio recording app is working, non of them can record a sound.

ps.: I have restarted the system, but no luck, still not working at all.

it might be pulseaudio changing your settings >.< what a pain.
