Hi everyone,
I have tried burning both x86_64 Core ISOs and x86_64 ISOLINUX ISO, and booting into them on my mac pro (not macbook pro) but all I get is a blank screen! So I don't know what I should try to do, or if I should just give up.
please tell me if anyone has some ideas that are related! thanks

(I think the problem might be because of the particular sort of CD drive I have, and I'll have to try with a USB drive to check that)

May sound like a rhetoric, but have you gone through this link? : http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/MacBook

I could not get anywhere with USB waste of money (so far)
I'll try ArchBang Live CD then, and I have seen the http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/MacBook and it is quite good but I am not completely sure what parts of it do and don't apply to me (since I have a Mac Pro rather than a MacBook).

It essentially all applies to the Macbook Pro too. There is also a big thread on the forums somewhere about this.

The guide should still pretty much be relevant for a Mac Pro, even though I don't actually have first-hand experience.

I've got a 2008 dual quad core Mac Pro with 8800GT. Arch boots and runs fine on mine.
How are you trying to boot the CD?
