I got on my computer today, and for some reason or another, my sound will just not work. I have tried everything I can think of but I can't get any sound. If I open a file with VLC I just don't hear anything, but if i open it with Banshee, it crashes.
My first though was that my sound channels got mutted, but alsa mixer dosn't work
ALSA lib control.c:867:(snd_ctl_open_conf) Cannot open shared library /usr/lib/alsa-lib/libasound_module_ctl_pulse.so
cannot open mixer: No such file or directoryAny help would be greatly appreciated

Did you add the normal user to the audio group? Maybe you removed the normal user from audio by mistake...
