Hi there, I have looked through several posts on sound issues with snd-intel-hda and eeepc in general, but to no avail. Please bear with me. Sound works in ubuntu, but I can't figure out why it doesn't work on arch.
After running alsaconf it reports no soundcards found, running alsamixer gives "cannot open mixer".
There is no directory called /proc/asound so the problem lies with detecting the device?
lspci -vvnn gives in the audio device section this:
00:1b.0 Audio device [0403]: Intel Corporation System Controller Hub (SCH Poulsbo) HD Audio Controller [8086:811b] (rev 07)
Subsystem: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. Device [1043:83ce]
Control: I/O- Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR- FastB2B- DisINTx-
Status: Cap+ 66MHz- UDF- FastB2B- ParErr- DEVSEL=fast >TAbort- <TAbort- <MAbort- >SERR- <PERR- INTx-
Latency: 0, Cache Line Size: 32 bytes
Interrupt: pin A routed to IRQ 6
Region 0: Memory at f3f38000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=16K]
Capabilities: <access denied>
Kernel modules: snd-hda-intel
On one thread it was suggested I blacklist "the other module", but what module exactly is that? I have blacklisted soundcore and snd-pcsp
MODULES=(!soundcore !snd_pcsp !i915)
Any help would be appreciated! Thank you in advance.

Why did you blacklist soundcore?? No wonder it doesn't work.

You are absolutely right! Sound didn't work initially and that was one of the fixes that was suggested. Thanks!
