git problems

all of a sudden git stopped working correctly

pkgbuilds that use git don't work and I even tried to the command manually (clonning pacman, etc...)
and the connection keeps timming out. I also tried to down grade to 1.7.0, but the same problem
keeps happening. Svn and everything else works as should.

Is there a config file or something that i can try and change the timeout time.
